2012 Sorento 3.5L fuel smell and noise on cold start

I have a 2012 Sorento 3.5L with 105000 miles, on a cold start I smell fuel and have a noise like a lifter or timing chain not getting oil. Plus a intermittent noise like a bearing is going out. After about 30 seconds I hear a click on the passenger side of the engine and everything returns to normal. I was at my Daughters house and drove the car home 300 miles at 70 mph with no problem. The car never used oil but I found the crankcase 2/3 qt low.
