In the middle of nowhere Texas, my 2013 Kia Sorento died. I was going up a grade, lost power, then all the dashboard lights went on. I first looked at the temperature gauge, which was a little under half. I pulled over and the car would not restart. The car was towed to a little podunk town, where the mechanic said the engine had seized up. There was no oil in the engine! I had the oil change less than a month ago and watched my mechanic put the oil in the engine. The oil change screw was secure. There was no oil leaked on the engine or the undercarriage. Then I had the car towed to Casa Kia in El Paso. I'm waiting as we speak for their diagnosis.

I did see this recall, however. Does this apply to my car?

I've only had the vehicle for 2.5 months, but it's past the lemon law time here in Arizona.

Don't know what to do? This is going to be one big repair or one big loss.
