I just would like to rack your brains please, here are the details. I have a 2.5 diesel and when coming off the gas pedal, there is a whine, it happens at any speed above say 10mph and happens whether its in gear of in neutral and free rolling. on any slight input on the gas pedal, the noise isnt there. this happens in every gear but i cant say about reverse. the gear box seems nice and fluid and goes go in and out without any struggle and when putting my foot down, the car pulls amazingly well with no issues or noises, just foot down and goes. something which might be relevant is there there is a bubble action going on inside the power steering fluid tank, i have dipped the fluid and its a nice red colour so as far as i can tell it isnt burnt. there are also no bubbles in the tank. the bubble isnt like a kettle boiling at all, its more of a light bubble, its hard to explain really. on turning the wheel, there is the soft whine which is expected with hydraulic power steering from previous experience. any pointers would be much appreciated please as its doing my head in. im thinking it could maybe be low fluids,just weather isnt playing ball at the moment but thought i would put it out there and see what everyone has to bring from their own experiences.
