Sporadic serious only when use cruise control

2013 Sorento AWD. 6 cylinder. Only happened 3 times and then never used cruise again.
On freeway and all lights inside and outside instantly go out and car slips into neutral-engine still on. Emergency flashers wouldn’t not work.
Turned engine off then on and all ok. At dealership “no codes found” ….drive it until happens again.
Months later turned on cruise and again all lights off but this time engine shuts off entirely. Again no flashers. Everything good when restarted engine.
Since then drove it for another year and down from Michigan to Florida but never used the cruise and all ok.
I bought a new car and want to sell this but not if it’s a danger to someone. Fuses? Bad wires?

I hear you not wanting to sell it to somebody personally... It may have been a better idea to trade it in and let a dealership deal with it. Not sure what it could be. I haven't heard of any other reports of cars shutting down only when using cruise control. I wonder if it may be a programing issue. Maybe there's a software or firmware update that addresses it. But I don't know...
