So my Sorento 2.4 GDI suffered from the cursed rod bearing failure at 91k, under 10 years. Took it the the local dealer and they confirmed the problem. They denied the warranty as I did not take it in for the knock sensor software upgrade. No notification of the software upgrade as I moved from Washington State to Arizona so did not get the notification. Didn't matter to them. So I bought a rebuilt engine and had it installed. Almost immediately it threw a code, P0013. Replaced the cam position sensors. Threw the code again. Replaced the VVT solenoids, threw the code again. Replaced all 4 again, threw the code. So come to find out, per the local Kia Dealership, I was sold a 2016 sportage motor. Dealer said they're not compatible. Anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem? It runs great, just keeps throwing the code, can't pass emissions. Thanks in advance!
