I have a 2014 Sorento that won't start. The brake pedal is very hard so I'm suspecting a bad brake booster, one way vaccum valve to booster or a neutral safety switch. I've tried pushing the brake pedal very hard as well as puching the stsrt button twice and holding for 10 second to with no success! No problems with fob or car battery. Can anyone tell me how to get the car to stared? Like to get it to a garage without towing. Thanks

Its been a week. Did you get it moved?

I believe one of the "OK to start" signals is from the brake lights. Do your brake lights come on when you step on the brake pedal? Is there absolutely no movement in the pedal?
I'm old school. I've never looked for the brake light switch on one of these, but most are on the pedal, 2 wires. If you connect them together the lights will come on, then see if it'll start. Please don't short to ground and blow a fuse. Or maybe your brake light fuse is bad.

My "old school" knowledge is that the brake lights work off the switch on the master cylinder. That being said, who knows! Just the same I'll check the brake lights to see if they come on. Thanks

AS a side note, I have four vehicles and only one in operation. My truck needs new radiator, sitting in the box, '05 Crossfire cooling fans running at hi speed all the time and now my wife's KIA has brake / starting issue. Hope my '06 Crossfire doesn't decide to conk out or we'll be riding bicycles! Having back and hip issues keeping me from working on them.

(I HAVE NO SHOP TECH MANUAL TO ASSIST ME.) Finally got the air filter box out so as to get at the brake booster. As seen in the picture, I hooked up a clear hose to the 3-way going to the brake booster and to a port on the air filter flex hose. After sucking on the hose I'm able to create a vacuum on the brake booster. I as well can blow into the hose with not restriction. Can anyone identify the two object in the photo's? Is one of them a one-way check valve? Thanks20250307_105917.webp20250307_105922.webp
