Hello, I have a question for members with 2025 Sorento hybrids regarding their fuel economy both actual real numbers mpg vs the estimated mpg on the dash. I know the EPA mpg estimate on window stickers is not real world mpg. Anyway the window sticker is 34 mpg combined under ideal conditions.
Before I get into the details below, I'm a 67 year old male who drives extremely conservative. On the interstate I always set my cruise at 65 mph. I always take my foot of the gas and coast downhill. I also coast when slowing down and stopping. I do everything I can to get the best mpg possible to include regular tire pressure checks, etc. My Sorento has 4000 miles and may not be completely broken in yet.
My estimated mpg on my dash always estimates that I'm getting 36-37 mpg for every tank of fuel. I've calculated my mileage, gallons of gasoline usage, etc.
My actual mpg calculations for a full tank of gas usage are always in the 31-32 mpg range. I realize the EPA window sticker of the vehicle mpg is just an estimate. However, I feel that actually getting 4-5 mpg BELOW my Sorento hybrid's estimate of 36-37 mpg is disappointing.
I doubt there's any way to correct my grossly inaccurate Sorento estimate. If someone has an idea i would love to hear it and what other 2025 Sorento hybrid owners experience regarding their vehicle estimate and actual mpg figures.
Sorry for being long winded.
Thanks
