Loud humming noise coming from the rear on my 2003 EX

Hey all.

I am getting a loud humming noise coming from the rear of my vehicle. The shop thinks it's has to do with my rear diff. Could the sound potentially come from my bearing as well?

I have the exact same thing happening. I'm front wheel drive so the only thing back there that could cause the sound is tread design or bearings.
I believe my situation is the bearings.

I have seen youtube videos on the Sorentos with the same issue and there has been a mix problems, from bearings to diffs. When I am ready to start working on it I will remove both rear wheels and spin the hubs to see if there is any grinding or unusual noise. If not, I will assume it is the diff.
