Lights shutting off in auto mode

We have a 2018 Sorento and the wife has reported that while the lights are set in the “auto” mode that while driving ( during night driving) the lights will shut off. The Kia dealer hasn’t been able to replicate the issue so they can’t repair/replace anything. Has anyone else had this same issue?

I have same problem. Mine is a 2017
Woke up this morning to daytime running lights on
K8a in she's says 160 to Diagnose. And up Even though I have the paperwork that say may be a multi switch.
They said can be anything fr9m loose bulbs to fuse or that switch. But not sure till take apart, until full recall. Using my light's in manual setting

Kia CS said. They can't force dealers to do for free unless gov denands

Kia on shrewsbury. Said needs to start at lights and go from there$$$$$$
Hope become recall like motor, should not be a cost to people. They did move Warranty up to a hundred and fifty thousand miles. On light
But. Dealers can charge to find problem. Mine said 169 to start. May be bulbs fuse ect ect or multi switch. Kia cus service said can not stop dealers from charging to find problem till government steps in. So just use manually I've been told, it's the dealers not Kia screwing around

I’ve been having this issue my 2018 as well. Also when the car is off and parked for hours the lights have been coming back on by myself and I have to go out and turn off the automatic switch.

I just bought a used 2011 Sorento and surprise surprise, I have the same Problem, ALL the lights go off, put on brakes they come bake on, scarey as hell.

I woke up this morning to find my eyebrow and brake lights on. While driving day or night the lights either randomly turn on or shutoff. This has happened on multiple occasion. I have a 2017 Sorento.

This is happening to me. Did you ever get it fixed?

This is a known problem for KIA. I have a 2016 Sorento with the same problem and it is related to the contacts inside the multi function switch on the left side of the steering column. I received a letter from KIA detailing this but my dealer blatantly denied it existed until I showed it to them. You may want to check your VIN to make sure it is included. It was just a special policy warranty extension but recently became a recall with KIA.

Not sure if 2018 is included but I have a 2016 doing the same thing. There is a recall on the multi function headlight switch.
